About

I am currently in the third year of my PhD research, based at the University of Stirling. This is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and focuses the impact of new public management (NPM) approaches on working relationships of qualified nursing staff with their managers, colleagues and patients. My supervisors are Iain Ferguson and Ian McIntosh.

Prior to joining the University of Stirling I qualified at a nurse in 2004 from the University of Liverpool and worked primarily within accident and emergency medicine. My interest in research and an interest in workplace violence led me to undertake MSc level study in Criminology and Applied Social Science, which developed into the work I am currently undertaking for my PhD.
