About

I am a professional cellist specialising in early music historical performance. I have over seven years experience as a senior research assistant in public health research and evaluation environment. I am also a certified music practitioner meaning that I have been trained for playing music one-to-one at the bedside of those who are nearing the end-of-life. I received a postgraduate diploma in Enhanced Palliative Care from the University of Stirling in 2009 department of Nursing and Midwifery, and am currently about to begin the third year of my PhD through the School of Applied Social Science at the University of Stirling. My working  thesis title is: 'The Effects of Live and Recorded Indiviualised Music on Both People Approaching the End-of-Life who have Dementia and their Primary Carer'.

I also direct a baroque orchestra and lecture on music at the University of St. Andrews.
