• Housing Policy and Practice Unit

Prior to coming to the University I worked for a number of housing organisations, all of which have now had name changes or have disappeared. 

Part of my role in each post involved a responsibility for education and/or training in housing.   I was the Education and Training Officer for the Scottish Branch of the Chartered institute of Housing for a few years, at a time when a coherent system of education for housing staff was being developed.  My interest and involvement in housing education goes back a long way.

My current responsibilities and interests on the course relate to the first and final modules, and to the preparation for and coordination of placements.  This brings me into contact with a wide range of housing organisations, providing information and connections that feed into teaching.

I am involved with a local housing association in the Stirling area which provides an additional opportunity to experience housing from a different perspective.
