About
I’m currently doing my PhD in the resettlement and rehabilitation of female prisoner. I’m interested in the maintenance of family relationships and there affect and assistance in rehabilitation and resettlement of female prisoners. Also of interest is the effect of maternal imprisonment on their dependent children.
Before starting my PhD I completed my masters at Stirling University (2011) in Applied Social Research and Criminology. My dissertation looked at social research conducted within a prison setting. What are the issues relating to getting in (access and ethics) and staying in (maintaining relationships, networks and the emotional impact of research on the researcher).
I also completed my undergraduate degree at Stirling BA Hons in Sociology and Criminology (2010), were I looked at the prevalence of bullying and violence in Scottish prisons.
