About

I joined the Department in July, 2007 from Heriot-Watt University where I had been a lecturer in housing and planning for ten years.  I gained my PhD at Heriot-Watt on 'The Identification of Structures of Housing Provision in Rural Scotland'.  I did my first degree here at Stirling in Environmental Science and an MPhil in Town and Regional Planning at the University of Glasgow.  I worked as a researcher and teacher at Glasgow and have managed research for a Government agency.

I have two higher French qualifications - the Diplôme de Langue Française and Diplôme Superieur d'Etudes Françaises Modernes - and have working knowledge of Gaelic.

Since February 2010, I have been convenor of the Rural Housing Service and I have previously been a board member of the Housing Studies Association and PATH (Scotland).
