Jane Robertson is a Teaching Fellow on the Dementia Studies postgraduate programme. Her teaching covers theoretical perspectives on dementia, living with dementia, working with people with dementia, education and support for paid and unpaid carers of people with dementia, evaluation and assessment in dementia care. She recently completed a PhD at Stirling where she previously studied for an MSc in Applied Social Research. She has an MA in Psychology from Edinburgh University.
Research interests centre on quality of life in older age, living with dementia and the care of people with dementia. Her recent doctoral thesis focused on quality of life perspectives among older people with dementia and their carers http://hdl.handle.net/1893/2530. She has particular expertise in qualitative methodologies including narrative interviewing and analysis.
Jane is an associate researcher with the Centre for Research on Families and Relationships at Edinburgh University http://www.crfr.ac.uk/ and is Treasurer of the British Society of Gerontology Scotland Working Group http://www.britishgerontology.org/membership/bsg-scotland.html.
