EWODOR (the European
Working Group on Drugs Oriented Research) was founded in 1983 to
provide a forum within which researchers in the field of drug/alcohol
treatment, prevention and policy could share research experience
and expertise; compare procedures, methods and results; and subject
their work to peer examination.
In order to achieve this objective, EWODOR provides:

Full membership - is open to researchers from EU member countries
and associated countries (Iceland, Israel, Norway, Switzerland and
Liechtenstein) in universities or other research institutions with
a significant interest in, and experience of, research in the drug/alcohol
field. Full membership is also available to professionals working
in drug/alcohol projects with significant responsibility for collaborative
research and/or treatment programme evaluation.
Associate membership - is open to similarly experienced researchers
from European (EU) candidate countries (Croatia, Macedonia and Turkey). Associate membership is also available to: researchers
in related fields; and to drug/alcohol workers (or students on relevant
accredited courses) from EU member/candidate countries.
Although membership of EWODOR is free, associate members will be
required to pay a fee for attending the annual symposium and are
not normally able to participate in European-wide EWODOR-sponsored
research initiatives. Membership of EWODOR is entirely at the discretion
of the Scientific and Organising Committee.
